Saturday Watchdog: Party Affiliation Says A Lot

Yeah, I consider the character and reputation of the person on the ballot before I consider their political party affiliation.

I’ve occasionally voted for honest Dems and a Libertarian or two over the years, mostly at the local level. But that’s become increasingly rare, because the Democrat Party, even at the state and local levels, has been hijacked by the far left and the American neo-socialist movement.

And the Libertarian Party seems to have gone off the rails into a kind of kooky anarchism, with no real direction or purpose other than to help Dems by siphoning off pissed-off conservative voters from the GOP.

So-called “Independents” aren’t really independent at all, as far as I can tell. They’re mostly Dems in red districts who are too afraid to identify as Democrats.

The GOP is far from perfect, and there are a couple of its candidates, even locally, for whom I’ve either left the oval blank or held my nose and voted over the years.

I still vote for the person, but the party and ideology someone chooses to align with and advance say a lot about that person’s character and judgment.
